Origin Story
This lot comes from the Chelchele washing station in the Gedeb district of Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia's most celebrated coffee origins. The station works with over 700 smallholder farmers who cultivate heirloom varieties at elevations between 1,900 and 2,200 meters.
The washed process here is meticulous: cherries are hand-sorted upon delivery, depulped within hours of harvest, and fermented for 36-48 hours in concrete tanks. After washing, the beans are dried on raised African beds for 10-14 days, turned regularly to ensure even moisture content.
What makes this lot special is the clarity. You get bright bergamot and jasmine aromatics on the nose, a delicate tea-like body, and a stone fruit sweetness that lingers without heaviness. It's what Yirgacheffe does best—elegance without compromise.
